Seems relatively undisturbed, a road cuts along the toeslope on the northeastern edge of the bog. Here the forest is dominated by Betula alleghaniensis - Prunus serotina / Rhododendron maximum. The surrounding upland forest is owned by the USFS and could potentially be logged. Southwest of the plot is a Tsuga canadensis - Picea rubens - Betula alleghaniensis forest. Northeast towards the road is a Hypericum densiflorum shrubland.;Mid-successional woodland. Moving back after being cleared by beaver. Somewhat undisturbed, no active beaver sign. Presence of white pine, perhaps it was planted on the edges and is encroaching into the bog.
Representativeness
This community is found on the margins of the bog. Similar to the Picea rubens woodland surveyed at Condon Run (MONF.102).
